You do not require any prior training or experience!  Join us, to learn how the Red Cross prepares for and responds to disaster situations, and how your life-skills and talents can help as an area volunteer!

We have volunteer roles for "client-facing" assistance, roles building relationships and partnerships within our communities, and "behind the scenes" support roles on our nation-wide disaster relief team.  Our free training classes will prepare you to serve according to your personal availability & schedule, and your interests, allowing you to help respond to disasters nearby, and potentially across the nation and the globe.

Our class size is limited to the first 20 folks, so register early!  We will not have space or materials for "walk-ins".  If this session fills up, we will start a "wait list", and schedule future classes in the Effingham area, so you won't miss out on the opportunity to get involved and trained.

Information about additional free training and volunteer sign-up instructions will be available during this class.

All Red Cross Disaster Relief training is provided FREE of charge.

Please register in advance for this class, by calling the American Red Cross of Southwest Illinois, (618) 465-7704.  Ask for the Effingham "Disaster Services: An Overview" class, on February 25 from 6:00-9:30 p.m.
